The book of Genesis records a remarkable statement—words that have reverberated through the annals of time. It was the Creator’s first press conference, immediately following the cataclysmic event that was the Fall of Man.
TWENTY-SIX WORDS THAT WILL LIVE IN INFAMY
Like a traffic cop arriving on the scene of a head-on collision, God sized up the situation and spoke first to the deceiving serpent:
“I will put enmity
between you and the woman,
and between your offspring and hers;
he will crush your head,
and you will strike his heel.” (Genesis 3:15 NIV)
This was a declaration of war from the Creator Himself, setting the stage for the conflict of the ages, invoking a battle that would rage through the centuries between “that ancient serpent, who is the devil, or Satan” (Revelation 20:2) and the woman and her seed. From that moment forward, the devil was intent on attacking the seed of the woman for fear that the seed would crush his head. Christ did just that at Calvary. Furthermore, Apostle Paul declared in his letter to the saints scattered throughout Rome “The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet.” (Romans 16:20)
A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE CONFLICT
Without going into much detail, here is brief point by point summation of this conflict in scripture:
- The first person born of woman—Cain—kills his younger brother Abel.
- Child sacrifice emerges in the ancient past to appease the gods of Molech and others.
- At the birth of Moses, infants were being executed en masse. Clearly a powerplay by the serpent.
- At the birth of Christ, infants were being executed.
- Today we see abortion on demand held up as the “golden calf” of our generation.
- The epic battle depicted in Revelation chapter 12 ends with this statement: “Then the dragon was enraged at the woman and went off to wage war against the rest of her offspring—those who keep God’s commands and hold fast their testimony about Jesus.”
The Serpent on a Pole
Jesus declared his saving role as the SEED the devil most feared when he said in John 3:14-15:
“And as Moses lifted up the bronze snake on a pole in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, so that everyone who believes in him will have eternal life.“
Jesus “became sin for us” so that we could stand righteous before a holy God. At the cross, the devil was once and for all stripped of all his authority and power to imprison the hearts of mankind. The serpent is a squatter. Any authority he now has is what men and women allow him to have by abdicating the authority Christ himself gave them. In Luke 10:18-20 we read:
Jesus said to them, “I watched Satan fall from heaven like lightning. I have given you the authority to trample snakes and scorpions and to destroy the enemy’s power. Nothing will hurt you. However, don’t be happy that evil spirits obey you. Be happy that your names are written in heaven.”
DEVIL TAKE THE YOUNGEST
The attack of the serpent has always been first and foremost upon the youngest in every generation. Today is no different! From the sudden rise in fentanyl deaths among our youth, to the 32 billion dollar sex trafficking industry, to the Disney scandal, to the attack on parents for speaking out to protect their children at school boards, to the forced vaccine mandates that are now targeting children, even infants. The war has taken on a new level of strength and significance since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
A new drama emerged this week as Dr. Bryan Ardis came public in a big way on the Stew Peters Show, launching a 47-minute interview “Watch the Water” that featured evidence that the COVID-19 pathogen came from the venom of a King Cobra. It immediately went viral. The link is below. See for yourself!
