It came upon us one night, with what seemed like blinding speed, as we sat glued to our seats in anticipation. What direction would the populace go? The polls, we had been told, were neck and neck.
Those of us who looked beneath the surface and saw a potential landslide on its way were so traumatized by what happened four years earlier that we strongly suspected something might go wrong. Yet, by dawn’s early light, Trump was declared the winner. We knew at that point that the good guys had won the information war.
To be sure, most of the country clearly felt that we needed change. The economy was tanking while inflation was soaring. Wars were breaking out across the globe, brought to you by the actions of the Biden administration. Fentanyl and other drugs, freely flowing through our border, were killing more than one hundred thousand of our people annually—a death toll the equivalent of two D-Day invasions each year. The wide-open border was a motherlode for the cartels, and over 300,000 migrant children had turned up missing, victims to human trafficking.
The millions of Americans whose comprehension was limited because they were too busy at work or play to go beyond the surface in their analysis, were sensing something was wrong. November 5, 2024, was decision day. All I can say is THANK GOD so many showed up and voted on that day. As I wrote in my book “MAGA Rising: Trump 2.0 and the Great American Comeback”:
“On November 5th, America will enter a gate of history that will open a new era of freedom and prosperity or a swift decline into irreversible tyranny. The hopes and dreams of millions of Americans and the destiny of our children and grandchildren hangs in the balance.”
Looking back to what happened that fateful night just two weeks ago, I am ever grateful to God that we took the right path, and the future looks bright.
A couple days after the election, I posted this on social media:
“I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.”America came to a fork in the road on Tuesday.
Theologically, we can reference the “broad road that leads to destruction” vs “the narrow way that leads to life.”
THE FIRST CHOICE would have certainly resulted in judgment and austere captivity to Babylon that I believe would have spelled the end of our Republic as we have known it. The Cubans, the Venezuelans and the Chinese among us who lived through the terror of totalitarianism will tell you: it is a dark place to be, with no hope of recovery.
THE SECOND CHOICE, which we thankfully took, will result in healing, recovery, reformation and the revival of the American spirit that has sustained us for nearly 250 years.
For those on the left, who are bemoaning their loss:
You have not lost. You have been rescued by others who saw more clearly and chose wiser for the good of all who live in this wonderful country. You may not realize it now and thank God you will never have to find out, but had your candidate won, all Americans would have suffered immensely in the years to come. America, like the Titanic, would have ended up at the bottom of the ocean of history.
Truth triumphed on November 5th. Americans from shore to shore are saying “I can see clearly now.” Millions around the world resonate with that sentiment. After the election, I received a call from a friend in Australia who said he wept when Trump was declared the 47th president of the United States.
TRUTH IS A LION
Augustine wrote ““The truth is like a lion; you don’t have to defend it. Let it loose; it will defend itself.”
Despite all the efforts of the left to keep the American people in darkness, truth triumphed. What’s more, it appears the incoming Trump administration will bring levels of reform that will carry us forward in the right direction for many years to come.
“The path of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, shining brighter and brighter until the full light of day.” Proverbs 4:18
